History of the Department of Computer Systems,
Networks and Cyber Security
of the Faculty of Radioelectronics, Computer
Systems and Infocommunications
of the National Aerospace University
"Kharkiv Aviation Institute"
The development of computer technology in the 1960s and its implementation in all branches of the national economy, including aviation and space science and production, led in September 1962 to the objective necessity of creating a general education department "Computer technology and impulse devices".
The first staff of the department included 6 teachers: head of the department - Ivan Kornet, assistants Vyacheslav Popov, Viktor Palagin, Mykola Berezyuk (all graduated from Khai Khai in September 1962), Ihor Baryshev, Volodymyr Lutsenko. The teaching and support staff consisted of the head of educational laboratories Kostyantyn Kyrylenko, teaching master Mosiy Klymchuk, engineer Mykola Ozerskyi, laboratory assistants: Lidia Blynovskikh, Igor Kostin, Fedor Nikhotin, Anatoly Gerasimenko.
In 1963, one of the first electronic computers in the USSR "Ural-1" with a speed of 100 operations per second was transferred to the department.
In 1964, the department was replenished with young teachers: Valery Sharonov, Klyd Furmanov, Mykola Korobkov, and in 1967 - assistants: Volodymyr Gordienko, Yuri Yalynych, Viktor Bliznyuk, Petro Danylchenko.
In 1982, the department was renamed to the Department of Electronic Computing Machines and Systems and became a graduate school specializing in computer science.
The qualitative change and expansion of specialist training areas in the 1980s and early 1990s were organically linked to the development of computer systems, local and global networksж.
Since 1990, the department has been renamed the Department of Computer Systems of Aircraft and begins to conduct training in the specialty of specialized computer systems.
In 1999, the department began training in computer systems and networks.
Since 2002, the department has been renamed the Department of Computer Systems and Networks.
Since 2004, the training of specialists in the specialty of system programming has been started.
