The main directions of scientific research
of the Department of Ion-Plasma Technologies and Equipment
On the basis of experience in the creation and research of electric rocket engines, the Department of Ion-Plasma Technologies and Equipment conducts work on:
1. development and research of plasma generators and accelerators for technological purposes:
- development and improvement of plasma ion accelerators (Kaufman-type accelerators) for removing defective layers from the surfaces of parts, ion cleaning, ion polishing and ion implantation;
- development and research of new types of Holov-type spraying systems, which allow to control the composition of the multi-component coating, which is formed, both in thickness and in length of the processed product;
- development and design of traditional magnetron spraying systems (planar and cylindrical) for high-speed application of coatings on the surface of parts of machines and mechanisms.
2. development and research of technological processes of surface modification (including formation of nanostructures) and application of multifunctional coatings;
3. development, design and manufacture of vacuum ion-plasma technological installations;
4. research of the processes of surface modification and formation of coatings by deposition from the plasma of gas discharges.
